Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide is a colorless, odorless gas that you will breathe in through a small mask. Within a few short moments, you will feel a calming, euphoric wave wash over you. This mild sedation method also wears off quickly, allowing you to return to work and daily life directly after your appointment.

Oral Conscious Sedation

Usually recommended for more advanced procedures or patients with mild dental nerves, oral sedation is administered in the form of a single pill that we will prescribe to you before your visit, usually Valium or Halcion. You’ll need to take it about 30 minutes to an hour before your scheduled visit to allow enough time for the effects to kick in. Because this medication can linger for longer, you will need to have a friend or family member drop you off and pick you up from your visit.

IV Dental Sedation

IV sedation is ideal for patients who have severe dental phobia or anxiety, or those who are undergoing longer, more complex procedures. It’s administered directly into the bloodstream using an IV, allowing for fast-acting and potent effects. While you will remain conscious during your procedure, most patients tend to drift off and don’t remember their visit.
